Me too. 1977-1980 Well, as a private to E4. HHC, 2nd Bde. Met my bride there. Really miss Ft. Campbell.

I was in 3-101, 7-101, and 563rd of the 159th Brigade from 2004-2012 and completed 3 deployments during that time.

When you get involved with Military actions around the world with no clear goal or end result not to mention foreign policy, you grind your forces and equipment down with no real return on investment. One of the "SOLUTIONS" was to use the "Reserves and Guard" as fillers until you even burned them out. Long periods of warfare tend to exhaust a countries military ability when you do it half ass. You kill off so many very good/outstanding troops, wound others and drive morale into the basement.
