Another reason NOT to join the Navy. If I wanted to see the ground underneath me move, I'd fire 120mm mortar, the concussion from firing it shakes the ground, good enough for me. If I was crazy enough to join the Navy and wanted to go below the water, that is the reason for subs. This damn ship is playing both worlds. The hell with this mess. SN Greg Wright

I was on a Cruiser, same size for those not in the know. Best place to have your rack Aft less bounce and roll. The water you see spray up over the bridge is about 4 stories up from the water line, .... and that's normal in moderate to heavy seas. In this video they are cutting through the carriers wake that's what's causing the chop.
For us this is a normal day like you taking a stroll to the chow hall, We run on treadmills, lift weights, eat, sleep, work, walk, drink, carry on like you do on land while the ship is moving. I was also on the Truman and it took takes some heavy seas all Planes with max tie downs and waves washing over the flight deck. Life keeps going, all Turbines burning all Screws turning. This is WHY America dominates the seas.

The coolest thing in the world is knowing you can complete a tactical retreat when 1SG or the CSM come near. A lot of folks do that me included. You cannot perform a tactical retreat from the COB or Chief when you only have 300 feet separating you and whatever pain is on his mind, and about to transfer to you. SPC's and Warrants are the Masters and Commanders of the Tactical Retreat...hence you never see a Warrant, but they see you. Try to give a SPC a task, and see how many appointments pop up five seconds later.

Come on brother. That's only carrier chop! Not even heavy seas. Wait til you see the REAL deal. When the ship rolls so hard that she hangs long enough for you to shit your pants and start chanting, 'Come back baby, please come back,' and you realize it's so loud because everyone around you is doing it, too. Been there. Done that.

SN Greg Wright - That "chop" my be "light" to y'all, but the ONLY chops I want to see are a choir singing, the mystery meet in the chow hall, or the ONE clown who thinks Romo was actually going to play anymore football, he's actually, good, and that fumble on the field goal wasn't his fault. His chops are about to be hurt.
