I always said I like facts, especially facts that are presented simply. No one can deny raw facts.

CPT Jack Durish What a great video.

I know that many consider Canada to be the ideal utopian system, that's because they aren't subject to it. I know of Canadian citizens that flew their family members to Germany or the US for treatment because of the poor care and long wait lines in Canada.

I have lived in Germany for a total of 13 years. Some of that time in uniform and some of it as a contractor where I had first hand experience with the socialized medicine. As I had private health insurance I had no complaints about my care. I got an appointment with my primary care physician when I wanted much as I do here. Same with specialist when they were necessary. The big difference is that when I had an appointment, I was seen at the appointed time as were other privately insured patients. Those who were subjected to the social medical system... they showed up and waited to be fit in, if not today, come back tomorrow.

I have friends in other parts of the world where socialized medicine is practiced and it seems they are happy with it while they're healthy and suffer when ill.

Interesting. But, hey it sounds good and some think it is the only way to go. I wonder how many that feel that way are dependent on the VA for all of their health care.

I know sme have had very good experience with the VA. But it was not Utopia. For example those who live in my home area must drive 50 or more miles to see the VA Dr. Not bad for the younger, but how about when you are 90?
