Although this is a somewhat dated article, the point is still valid. Chili does not include beans, and you need to come up with another name for your spiced vegetable stew, because it's not chili.

THANK YOU!!! I have been saying beans don't belong in chili for years, now I have proof! LOL
(I serve sweet cornbread on the side as well)
