75 years ago, Doolittle Raid changed history

This is one of my favorite missions of the war. A complete shocker. Who would think to launch bombers from a carrier and hit Tokyo early? The damage of the raid was negligible but the psychological impact was significant.

They knew then they could be hit. The red had been knocked off their sucker early on. Doolittle and his men knew that was a very high risk raid, all volunteered and took their chances. Part of the greatest generation for sure.

One of the things that interested me was the Japanese reaction. Far beyond the damage done was the fear it inflicted.
