Goddamned right he did. But worse, he put his sycophant Mabus as shepherd of the Navy. Fuck that cunt motherfucker of a man. I don't know where he bought his root and stones, but the fucker wasn't born with them.

I may have worded it somewhat differently, Greg, but agree 100% with your take on the past eight years. And the so-called leaders that have emasculated our military in so many ways.

Hopefully with the new administration, the Navy can get back on track, and be what they once were.

Environmental issues should ALWAYS be a part of how we go about our business. There has to be a balance, however. We have finite resources, and the end goal is having a military that can deter our enemies and kick the shit out of them if that doesn't work.
I'm not a tree hugger by any means but environmental issues have had a huge impact on veterans health.
Using service members as test subjects for nuke tests, exposing them to agent orange and have abestos in construction of both structures and ships are a few examples of not thinking ahead.
One concern that hits home with me was the contamination of ground water at Camp Lejuene from underground fuel tanks from the 60s to 80s.

Agree, just like safety. Safety is always considered, but it can't drive ops or we'd never undertake missions with even moderate risk. Commander's judgment to find the balance.
