In the 1950s both Iraq, under King Faisal and Iran under the Shah were members of CENTO, Like NATO except further East. It also included Pakistan and Turkey. We sold or gave all kinds of weapons to all of these nations. The chemical and biological weapons have markers. We helped Iraq attack Iran and supplied them through the war. Both sides used WMDs but after the war Iraq turned their weapons in. Mustard Gas is not considered a WMD.
