I have seen it my two eyes. There is a SSG who watched a new unit cut his Afghan sidekick, he will never be the same again.

I wonder if we are talking about the same NCO.

An E-5 befriended a boy in Afghanistan. His unit was doing a relief in place. A soldier from the new unit was providing security at the gate cut the boy in half with a SAW when he noticed the boy coming close to the gate. It broke my heart to watch this E-5 because he was not responding to therapy. He felt resigned to the possibility that his condition might not ever improve.

Moral Injury, what absolute nonsense. And they call us Snowflakes, the Amish Bus Driver rule applies here. If you can't kill you are a danger to yourself and those around you. There is no draft, why the hell would you occupy a slot and deprive someone who can do the job. Bad enough people are suffering PTSD while never in the Combat Zone.
