The RAM was tested on my old ship, the former USS Paul F. Foster (DD-964). I saw the launcher on the ship when I went aboard for a reunion in 2014 but I don't have any pictures of it because we were given strict instructions to not photograph any weapons systems.
IMO the RAM should be used in conjunction with CIWS, though on a ship like an LCS there's probably not room for both systems.

Not any better or worse this CIWS. It performs a different role in the defensive layers. In between NATO Sea-Sparrow and CIWS.
The video makes it seem like it is a new system, but it has been around over 30 years.
This is the latest iteration called SeaRAM. It replaces the gun from CIWS with a smaller launcher. They are on the Independence Class LCS and the Navy is starting to replace one of the CIWS mounts on DDGs with these.

Foe one thing it can kill misses carring nukes before that get in range to kill a ship, CWIS can not. The depth of it coverage also allows multiply targets to be targeted consecutively,
