Thanks for posting these types of articles over the political tripe. I am in favor of the term and the concept of Mission Command. Its nothing different that winning the game in your particular role or position. I like to use Alabama football analogy. Nick Sabin does not talk about points on the board. He talks about each individual team member performing the best they can in their position. Each play is a process that required every player to perform their role flawlessly. If that happens then they will dominate. Which they usually do. Mission Command is difficult in the Army for one reason. Arrogance. Team members only know their role and do not consider any of the other WfF. It is not a team. And I think that, and the poor GO Corps, is a reason we can not defeat a 7th Century enemy.

We have some great GOs... or did till most retired.. but we fail to use the best vs using those available due to peacetime portioning. Our current leadership in Iraq has proven to be everyday as good as their French and British and Russian counterparts.... those of WWI that is.. Such leaders do not understand the value of action and maneuver and the folly of terrain fixation.
