I see this involves NATO. The US provides roughly 22% of NATO’s direct funding, which covers the cost of maintaining NATO headquarters, joint security investments, combined military operations. From 2021, Germany will increase its contribution to the NATO budget to be in line with what the US pays. NATO officials hope the move will diffuse tensions surrounding the cost of maintaining the military alliance.

I always get upset when the only thing people look at is the monetary contributions of NATO member nations. If you've ever served in/with NATO you tknow they contibute as much as possible in non monetary ways.
