No
Id be ok with special Duty pay (SDP) for an E9 with a Masters in an associated field. Or SDP for nominative assignments that have vastly more responsibility than that of the housing SGM position.
But Id prefer it to be pay based on duties performed, education in related degree, NOT rank attained.

BUT actually I feel the same way about officers. Officers are compensated higher for their "Awesome responsibility"
Ok fine.... when they are assigned a duty that has "Awesome responsibility" they should be compensated. But when they are a MAJ, LTC, COL on staff in charge of getting to lunch on time and putting the training meeting Power Point briefing together they should not be getting compensated for their lack of "Awesome responsibility"

The only position I could fathom as being deemed worthy and well qualified for an additional promotion would be for the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And if you know CSM John Wayne Troxell, you know he is a very dedicated and humble servant to all troops but most especially the Enlisted Troops. He is gone typically more than 20 days out of the month across the full spectrum of military operations and services in all areas where our troops are serving. I might be biased, but as a CSM that served at the BN and BDE Level, I believe that would be the only position worthy of an exception as that is the most senior enlisted individual across the Department of Defense.

CSM John Wayne Troxell... Having briefed him a few times when I was the RC-E JOC SGM and watching him LISTEN, tell an aid to "write that down" and then hearing from others days later they got an answer, response, suggestion, or contact to help them from when they "asked CSM Troxell" ... I know his level of dedication to the troops. But again, no need for an E11 pay grade, just SDP for the duty assignment

CSM Michael J. Uhlig Only serving as a SGM, I also agree with you. A CSM's duties and responsibilities do warrant a higher pay grade. Other than that, I don't see anything else which isn't already qualifying (SMA) for another pay grade.
I can also see a difference in MSG / 1SG. I wasn't pinned 1SG because the unit I was NCOIC as a MSG was detachment size and not authorized, yet I did all the duties and responsibilities of a 1SG as my "additional" duties. There was so much more time consumed and involvement in my 1SG duties, so I can see some extra pay for the work involved. I will say I felt honored as every one in the unit called me 1SG or TOP. After I got promoted to SGM the Army finally saw fit to open up the 1SG course for soldiers who were in my position. Completing the 1SG course should be the qualifying factor. Once leaving the position, returning to a MSG position, then the extra pay should end.

I'm looking to see if it still exists but in the past CSMs serving above BDE level used to receive a stipend to compensate for the added social requirements that went along with duties related to serving with a GO. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Currently Sergeants Major and Command Sergeants Major carry an identifier that relates to their level of service, for assignments.
If they still receive the stipend and carry the skill level identifier why would the need exist for E-10 and E-11. When assembled in a heard of zebras (Sergeants Major), everyone knows who's senior and defer the proper courtesy to the position held already.
