A bit before my time. But I remember my mom playing their records on the old entertainment center. Back when a stereo was a piece of furniture ;)

You should be so lucky as to own one of those old console stereos. They all used tube amplifiers because solid state was not available yet and even the basic ones had a great sound. They sell at a premium now and many have scavenged the amps that they sell for a respectable price. Sometimes less is more and the newer tube amplifiers can sell for thousands to tens of thousands depending on how much one has to spend. Even the basic old ones produce a sound full of warmth and clarity that is hard to achieve with a solid state or hybrid amplifier. Names like Philco, GE, Sylvania, Zenith, Magnavox, RCA Victor, Sears Silvertone, and Westinghouse are among the many common brands.

PFC Roger Goff - Yeah, but who can afford them? I picked up a MA-6200 integrated amp and set of 4 way XR-14 speakers second hand in the 80's and still have them. I have to clean up some noisy pots and replace a start solenoid on the amp. It's sold state anyway but has a good sound. The speakers could stand new capacitors in the crossovers but still sound ok. Here's one guy that went nuts with a home theatre full of Macs. $6 million price tag.

That is quite impressive. A bit over the top, but quite impressive indeed.

It is a great one, Colonel! Thanks for this rendition. I remember playing it on a desktop jukebox in my hometown pizza bar!

He sure could! I saw Bill Medley on TV singing not long ago. It was a shame because his voice sounded bad. All those years of smoke filled rooms and singing hurt his sound I am afraid.
