Dear 1LT Sandy Annala you got me! I have no idea what the heck is going on with our ships. So far this year we have had cruiser run aground in Tokyo Bay, another cruiser get hit by a Fishing Boat off Korea, and not 2, not one, but TWO DDG's get hit by large container ships. Everyone on watch in CIC, on the Bridge and on Lookout seems to be Sleeping on duty. Can you say Iceburs and Titanic?

I'm thinking it's going to come down to lack of qualified people some how I just suspect that to be the case.

Looks like the Chinese are thinning the herd. Two destroyers in less than 90 days both performing Freedom of Navigation Patrols through contested waters. Maybe I need to take my tinfoil hat off.

Actually, they were transiting well-known areas of congested traffic. Areas where crews should have been at their highest states of readiness and peak performance, not asleep at the wheel.
