I've been honored and privileged to know Colonel Don "Doc" Ballard for over thirty years. He is everything the president said about him, and much more. I was fortunate to be present at and to assist in the "raising" of Doc to the Third Degree of a Master Mason in Blue Springs, MO, several years back. Doc works tirelessly for the military veterans of this country. And, BTW, Doc is a member of the RP community!!!

Thanks for sharing this SCPO (Join to see). While I dont know any MOH recipients personally, I have met a lot of them. We just lost this brave man, Colonel Leo Thorsness in picture with me and my twin brother, also a Vietnam vet.

Through Doc, I've met several. And they all put their pants on one leg at a time!!! Just ordinary men who did extraordinary things, at least most of those who received it...those who weren't and didn't is a whole other discussion for another day!!!
