"Not surprised about the Melbourne, FL connection." Sorry - we're an East coast surf town. More surf shops than gun shops. I should know. I repair both. I get maybe one gun every two months. Surfboards? I'm repairing fiberglass weekly. Used to be just my son's/daughter's friends. Now its shops themselves. Just refinished a 9 foot Hawaiian board for a customer. Took all the varnish off, fixed the dings and repainted it.

A new place called "Frog Bones" just opened up where you "take the whole family, eat, shoot, etc." But it opened at the expense of three other gun shops. And you almost have to have a membership to shoot there.

No. Daytona. Daytona Beach kicked all the college kids out and they cater mainly/solely to bikes now. "Spring Break" still exists but its maybe 10% of what it was in the late 90's. They all filtered down to Cocoa Beach and so Cocoa's now the "college destination" but like Daytona, Cocoa Beach found out that college kids don't spend any money. So all the folks that would normally go to Cocoa Beach come to Melbourne. Melbourne redid the downtown, prettied up the beach front and basically spent a ton of money. The flagship beaches are Canova Beach, Indian Harbor Beach and Melbourne Beach.
