Because every single media outlet doesn't give 24/7 news coverage to things like alcohol related deaths and drug overdoses. It's the classic "argument weak, shout louder" concept.

This data is very suspect. In 2016, about 4,000 people were killed in domestic disturbances (FBI and CDC), and this data states that there have only been 1,113 through Oct? In 2016, all forms of cancer killed 595,930 and heart disease 633,842 (CDC). Are we to believe that the death rates for those have dropped that dramatically?

What I can say is it states on the site that this is (Raw and Undigested). Also the sources are there. Granted we all have been told one thing from the gov only for them to update later. Back to (Raw and Undigested). Of course I we have to factor in Chicago before we can really talk too much about the numbers. Why ? Because so much of the numbers come from Chicago.

SFC Thomas Butler - Granted the comparison is against a complete year of 2016 to an incomplete year of 2017. Now are the numbers going to spike in the last few months ? I do not know. Did the numbers drop ? Maybe. This is just the raw numbers.

PO3 (Join to see) - Ummm.....using the 2016 statistics compiled by the CDC and FBI, there were a total of 15,696 homicides in the US, of which Chicago accounted for 762 . That means that one city accounted for a whopping 4.8% of the homicides in the U.S. While the gun violence in that city is out of control, only focusing on that one location is pretty useless.
