While the article makes some good valid points, the reality is that the republican party of the 60's and 70's was not in the destroyed state that it is now. Trump "on paper" has the majority but half of his party still has not accepted him and is causing major problems. Against this backdrop, my cat could run as the democratic candidate and beat Trump. And trust me - we don't want any of my cats in the White House. Especially the one thats peeing everywhere...

In all seriousness, the spectre of Hillary will be purged and a viable front runner will be found in time for the elections.

PO3 Donald Murphy - Jim Web - no. Michelle Obama - even if drafted I don't believe she would run after what Barak went through. No, what the dems need is to rebuild with people closer aligned to middle America.

PO3 Donald Murphy - I'll take that as a bet. I'm in for Trump. The GOP was not united behind him for the last election and all he has to do now is a few liberal policies to "reach across the isle'' to get more moderates. He may not be the best for the position but right now he is out politician all the professional politicians.

LTC (Join to see) - You have a great angle on that. I don't think tho - that this is Trump's angle. A lot of my gop friends who voted indy refer to him as the "closet democrat." Is Trump's "reaching across the isle" the sign of a name-calling gop wanting to mend fences "for the good of America" or is it because he can't get the gop voting he needs? With the majority he started with on January 21st, Hilary should be in jail, obamacare should be in the trash and we should have at least part of the wall built. Not there yet, are we?

Plus - we also - as citizens, need to question what happened. "One of us" got elected. You can't sit at home at night and think that the "establishment" is okay with that. Whats killing him now is not you and me. Its politicians that don't like that a non-politician is sitting in their chair, in their house, in their city. Add in the fact that the electoral voters do not legally have to vote the way we mandate, and you've got some interesting electioneering. Its highly possible that the gop candidate could be someone else.

PO3 Donald Murphy - I agree. It is highly possible but not likely. We are experiencing an unprecedented growth rate. So if the ROI is realized the Establishment on Both Sides will continue with their resist but accept profit status quo stance.
