I served in 3-41 IN until we reflagged to 1-22 IN.

The 41st Infantry Regiment was one of six segregated regiments created in 1867 after the Civil War to allow African Americans the opportunity to serve in the Army. It was consolidated in 1869 with the 38th Infantry Regiment to form the 24th Infantry Regiment.
