Is THAT why we invaded Canada!? Three times! Before FDR's advisers told him that a United States of Europe under the Nazis would be very bad for our economy he hadn't been talking Arsenal of Democracy or any of that.
Johnson pursued the war in Viet Nam so he could avoid charges of being soft on communism that plagued Truman, who committed ground troops to Korea -- a complete reversal of policy -- for the same reason.
