I didn't think they were offended. The guys are in their 90s so they probably aren't as sharp as they used to be. Then again, they may be sharp as a tack. They made a tremendous contribution to the war effort in the Pacific, and I'm proud to call them fellow Marines.

He was puzzled. It's tough to be offended when you don't understand the context.

LT Brad McInnis - Very true. Considering their plight they have had to be very resilient.

Trump said "they call her Pocahantas". He didn't even have to courage to say "I call her Pocahantas" as he is the one who started that whole thing. But he is always dodging direct responsibility for his devisive comments by using qualifiers like "many people say" or "I was told" when in fact the words are his own.

CPL Dave Hoover - Yea, Trump doesn't care,,, about working class people, about the poor, about people of color, about the real America.

Many of us here in Massachusetts were already calling Her Pocahantas long before President Trump did. Before that we called Her Granny Warren and for many of us it wasn't because We admired Her either. Prior to Her Senator Kerry disgusted Me and the short time Senator Scott Brown filled the office He actually was helpful to Veterans and not given proper credit but what Do You expect from a state with more than their share of Liberal Left sorts who don't have a clue ? One of our Boston radio talk show host of WBZ radio, Dan Rhea, also calls Her Pocahnatas mainly because She is such a fake and phony on that and just about everything else. People like Her in the Federal Government are a big reason things are so messed up ! As You may have guessed, I didn't vote for Her and the more I see of Her I know at least I made the right choice even if some other didn't. Right now however Pocahantas Warren is still one of our two Senators although I hope not for long or anywhere else in state or Federal Government.

I love it. I hope Mr. Trump keeps it up. Leftist heads explode for stating the obvious truth. Trump is the ultimate troll.

LTC (Join to see) - I'm also curious, sir, could you please explain what "obvious truth" DJT spoke during the event that caused leftist heads to explode?

CPO (Join to see) - I did not hear the speech in its entirety. I heard the part about 'the Indian that we have in the House of Representatives' part and I loved it. You have an issue with the POTUS calling out a fraud but you have no issue that a person is calming to be something that they are clearly not. I thought that was cultural appropriation? I'm gonna live knowing that you are upset with me. All that means is that I stand for something that is right. Its called Standards Sir.

LTC (Join to see) - Sir, is that the "obvious truth" you spoke of? While Warren's claims about a native ancestry have indeed been disputed, those claims have not been disproved. I find Warren's claim *highly* suspect and likely to be false but I admit that they have not been proven false. However the Trump claims about a Swedish ancestry are very well documents as having been proving false.
If you sort this page by newest, there should be a thread from me right next to your post that further explains my feelings on POTUS's name calling. Please give it a read, but basically: How can you fault Warren that grew up listening to two generations of family telling her a plausible story? When the Trump family is absolutely guilty of lying about its roots, where does Trump get off calling another person names for only having been accused of lying? Why the hell would he resort to name calling during a ceremony to honor WWII veterans? What sort of personal attacks and name calling would one direct at Gail Lukasik for the false claims in her family history? Parents are not always honest with their children and you can't really blame that on the kids.
I'm not a big supporter of the cultural appropriation arguments as I understand the issue and I think some of the arguments I've heard verge on racism.
Sir, all that means is you are ignorant of the subject. (Ignorant is *not* an insult, it merely means you did not know.) However, if you continue to support Trump for his personal attacks and name calling now that you do know, then you stand for hypocrisy and that is not a standard to brag about, sir. As a Trump supporter I am surprised you don't know much of anything about Trump.

Trump incorrectly claimed to be Swedish for decades
On Monday evening, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) explained — as she has since her successful 2012 campaign to unseat Sen. Scott Brown (R) — that she believes she has Cherokee ancestry because "I learned about my family's heritage the same way everyone else does — from my parents and grandparents. I never asked for and never got any benefit from it." The prompt for this was President Trump trotting out his "Pocahontas" epithet during an event...

LTC (Join to see) - You may read POTUS's brilliant remarks and touching tribute to these heroic veterans at the link below. I certainly hope your ceremonies are more in line with military traditions and standards. That you make the ceremony about the Soldiers being honored and not a forum to launch a personal attack against a fellow officer.
