I know those on the left in the media are getting moist over this but there is really nothing new here as far as what we already knew. Flynn was let go for lying by the administration. He was only the NSA for 25 days. There is no evidence he did anything DURING the campaign.

Flynn, unfortunately, made some missteps that will tarnish a pretty solid career of serving his country for 30+ years, 5 of those being in combat operations.

In a written statement, Flynn said "it has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of 'treason' and other outrageous acts."

However, he said, "I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right. My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel's Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions."

That is far more honesty that we normally get out of anyone on politics.

SMSgt Thor Merich - sorry, but that's not what is happening here. Flynn is rolling on the administration.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Greg, I don't think so. If he had real information I doubt he would have been forced to make a public guilty plea for lying to the FBI in court. How do you use someone as a witness that admits he lies under oath, not easy. I think he is getting nailed for his lying and his lack of proper filing for the lobbying he did in the past. I think Muller let him off easy for his years of service to the country. Time will tell but I don't see this one going anywhere but to him for what he did.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - "If you want to throw in with people who lied about numerous undisclosed contacts with Russians, and then, when exposed, changed their story to how there was nothing wrong with it, totally glossing over the fact they lied and obfuscated in the first place, I suppose that is your right."
Like I stated before, take a closer look at Congress and the State Department, and there is so much obfuscation that people are blinded to the simple facts.
Half of the information you need to see is in plain sight if you just open your eyes and look for it.

Cpl Jeff N. - Jeff, it's done all the time. This has all of the hallmarks of a guy rolling over to protect himself and his son, and Mueller has structured this in such a way that a presidential pardon can't get him out of trouble.

With the exception of lying to the FBI, even Leon Panetta, hardly a Trump defender, says it is a stretch to view Flynn and the Trump team as guilty of anything but breaking precedent for their Russian contacts after the election. Keep reaching liberals ... you still don't have dinkum.

It went from "no Russian contacts", to "nothing illegal about the numerous, unreported Russian contacts we were lying about earlier". If those are the kinds of people you want to throw in with, I suppose that is your business. Personally, I prefer people that don't sell out their country and then lie about it.

Lots of time, lots of money, lots of pro-Dem lawyers, and all the special counsel can get is a retired spook for lying to law enforcement (FBI). If President-elect Trump told his presumptive National Security Advisor to talk with the Russians and many other foreign national representatives in preparation for assuming office, I don't see why that's illegal. As an American Citizen, fully endowed with Constitution Rights and not a government employee, it's not against the law to talk with representatives of foreign governments. It's illegal to lie to the FBI about it, admittedly.
Once again proving the cover-up is worse than the act itself.
