It is sad Ottis Redding died before this song got to number one. They had just finshed production then he died in a plane crash at 26 years old :(

CBS News did a segment on him last night. The co-author of "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" was interviewed and still emotional about the loss of his best friend.

Been a favorite of mine since it came out. Then I was actually was sittin on the dock of the bay.. Kitty Hawk bay !
