This:

Wilson had been initially charged with child sex assault and abuse and various specifications of conduct unbecoming an officer in November 2016.

He was sent to the brig after additional allegations of sexual assault, and an unauthorized absence charge, emerged months later.

A former Marine Corps attorney, retired lieutenant colonel James Weirick, told The Daily Beast that Wilson should have been sent to the brig when he was originally charged.

-- So maybe his rank played in him not going to the brig on his initial charge? I don't know.

And he did get found guilty he got sentenced to five and a half years behind bars for child sexual abuse and a slew of counts of conduct unbecoming an officer. The max was 15 for the child sexual abuse charge.

I am not seeing the issue here, He is a Col and the regs say he has to be tried by people with a higher rank, It also makes sense someone his rank or higher would need to oversee him any time he is out of confinement. This is not special treatment, its just a screwed up situation caused by a high ranking person being accused of a crime. Same rules apply to E9 and down.

If convicted then strip the rank and no need for any special chasers.

Innocent until proven guilty is what keeps us from being in kangaroo courts and tryrant/dictatorships. Let the courts figure it out, and then if guilty hammer the living dog crap out of him.
