Russia and Canada would be pleased if global warming would kindly speed up.

Not really both are experiencing melting in their permafrost. Much of Siberia may sink. whole areas are getting undermined

Funny how these people scream about global warming and the damage we are doing to the environment, yet they live in large homes sucking up energy, use private jets that burn fuel and drive expensive gas guzzling vehicles. And they want everyone else to reduce carbon emissions. Hypocrites at their finest!

SSG Jessica Bautista - Seriously? Typical Liberal response by asking more and more questions without accepting or researching the facts. If you really want to know try Google!

LTC David Brown - Sir, you apparently misinterpreted your article with personally held preconceived notions that are not included in the actual text of the article. Again, there is a difference between weather and climate. You mention dropping sea levels as a counter argument to long term climate change, but the article affirms that the 2010/2011 La Nina weather cycle was a one off event and confirms both climate change and rising sea levels. How does this article support any your claims? It is also my understanding that weather will likely be more extreme; not milder.

As mentioned in your article:
"According to a U.S. study, the effect caused by the La Niña weather pattern around Australia meant global sea levels fell for 18 months during 2010 and 2011, bucking the long-term trend of rising sea levels caused by higher temperatures and melting ice sheets."

"The scientists said that as the atmospheric patterns have returned to normal, more rain is falling over the tropical oceans once more and the seas are rising again."

"Dr John Fasullo, a scientist at the National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in the U.S. said: 'It's a beautiful illustration of how complicated our climate system is.'"

I didn’t misinterpret the article.. I am just pointing out how when nature doesn’t follow the models it is one off , data gets fudged or BS abounds. If there is a warming hiatus take ship intake temps ( which are contaminated) and add them to satellite and ocean buoy temps and hiatus is gone. Even Dr Judith Curry can’t stand the BS any more. Dr Ivar Giaever Nobel prize in physics resigned from the American Physical Society because you can’t discuss global warming. Is this really science? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivar_Giaever

Then there is this that explains why some of the suppositions may be wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBjFjSZjv6w
