I can't read the article. But I'm going to answer the question "What’s even more tragic than Trump’s appalling comments?" It is the liberals who have once preached about tolerance now preach hatred. It is the democrat hypocrites who once said oh, the President can do this, that, and the other thing and now are saying he can't. It is the hypocrites who criticizing Trump for doing the same or similar things that Obama did, yet remained silent when Obama did it.

"What’s even more tragic than Trump’s appalling comments" is that there is more fact than fiction in what he says ... despite the offensive manner in which he says it. The other thing almost as tragic is that politicians of the opposing party, in a closed meeting in which the POTUS speaks bluntly and candidly, can't wait to run to their favorite media outlet with the latest mouse turd over which to pole vault. A word to the wise to Trump ... next time, curb your tongue or don't invite the Congressional Democrat leadership.

Keep the cameras running during each and every meeting with the resistance, that includes the anti-trumper Republicans. The left loves to take words out of context and use them as weapons, particularly when they are running on empty. Totally agree with the intent, however badly it was worded. If the crude word was so bad, why hasn't the other politicians that use even worse chastised for them? From the comments, the s**thole is in the middle of the faces of the people making such hateful statements. Hollywood and elsewhere.

The harsh reality is that for most of those seeking to come here, the reason is because their country IS a shithole. Were it not, they, like the Norwegians who have taken delight on social media in telling Trump they don't want to come here, wouldn't want to come here in the first place. The first step in fixing any problem ... is identifying it ... and it appears that a good many people, particularly of the liberal persuasion, are unwilling to do so.

I am required to sign in to the Washington Post in order to read this Opinion... I'll pass on that.... sometimes it is entertaining to read what the Post publishes.... and to comment on some of it.... but I'm not going to 'sign in' to read anything they put out....
I think the dust surrounding this so called slam on Shithole countries is going to turn out to be a clear sailing day for Trump... He calls it like it is.... Folks from Haiti are saying 'thanks for putting us back in the news.... now we can find that money that the Clintons have run off with' ..... Or the guy from Nigeria who did a five minute Facebook slam on Nigeria.... saying that .....indeed Nigeria is a shithole country.... Now we Nigerians need to return to our country to fight to get it right....'
Now buckle up lad. We have a real president at the helm....
