Sailor’s suicide attempt prompts heroic response by sub crew

A rifle underway? And how does one attempt suicide with a rifle? Something is stinky in Denmark - or in this case North Dakota

Was he a member of the rapid response team during a drill and why was he issued live rounds? Once again I have more questions than answers provided in this very short article. I really do wonder how and why he had a rifle?

Was it a suicide attempt or is this a coverup, accident, attempted murder. I know there will be a full investigation and I hope by an outside authority, not just the ship. Way too many unanswered questions even as I write my response to the article.

At seven hours out of port and weather this bad, the crew did a heck of a great job bringing the boat in. Well done to all hands involved in the evolution from shot to tying up and offload. Well done!
