Watch Mitch McConnell Kill Bill To Protect Military Pay During Government Shutdown

Rule XIII in Senate rules state that any Senator voting with the prevailing side on a question (or who has not voted) may bring a matter back for reconsideration by the Senate. So if the military pay bill was going down, and the Majority Leader wanted to reserve his right to reconsider the bill, he would vote in the negative in order to do so. Perhaps we can stop and take a breath before our partisan preferences get more in the way?

Yeah, so lets piecemeal all discretionary spending instead of working, I don't know, for an actual bill to fund for the entire year.
How long since we have had a budget? No one saw this coming?

Until we have a balanced budget amendment with appropriate penalties requiring a budget to be passed, we will continue to see these political games.
