While I agree with that sentiment I am not sure it's possible because, like a Hydra, it reaches so deep into private Enterprise, media and finance.

This is a bunch of horses**t. There is no more a "shadow government" now than there was 20, 50, 100, or 150 years ago.
Methinks some need to find their tinfoil hats.

Methinks someone needs a dose of reality if they don't see the behind the scenes power plays that affect us daily. All tin foil will do is hold in the brain matter after the shot and keep it fresh for the worms.

There has always been individuals with strong influence on our government. Nothing new. But, I do not believe it is some semi-large organized group, acting in concert. Perhaps a few individuals get together and discuss how they would like the world to be, make appropriate donations, and voice their wishes, but not a large group, and not enough to cause any great sway one direction or the other. IMO, there are just as many on one side of the political spectrum as there are on the other.
I have a much greater fear of those who wish to tear down our government because they think it is too big.
