I suspect some will be glad they will not have to deal with this, and some think it is necessary and timely. My concern is that someday, we will be able to say nothing, talk to anyone, or send any correspondence without offending someone. The downside, is those who want to, are very adept at using policies to further their agendas against supervisors, leaders, and what they perceive as the system. And, many times these allegations are baseless. Time will tell.

I guess I don't understand because I'm a girl, but I always had this policy, and am surprised it wasn't understood: you don't harass or be offensive at work. Is this really a change in policy?

I have read that many managers/supervisors now make it a point to have a 3d person in the room with them should they have to speak one-on-one with a female employee. for fear of being denounced later on. Hopefully it doesn't come to that anytime soon.

I had a boss who had a policy years ago that his office had to have a window so anyone could see in when he was behind closed doors. This was to protect him from accusations, he said.

Honestly, all gender and sexual issues aside you are always better off having an extra in the room. Nothing sucks more than a he-said/she-said.
