Fisker Automotive abandoned one of their
Research and Development facilities in La Palma, California.
I lived in the 1.6 square mile La Palma from 1971 to 1987. My parents moved out in 1992. This city of 15,000 is just outside of Los Angeles County. I went to school there. It is in Orange County.
This bankruptcy of an electric car company is as catastrophic as the Ch.11 of Proterra electric bus company. I live in Canada and many of those buses are out of service awaiting spare parts.
VP Kamala Harris endorsed this bus company 2 yesrs ago as part of the flawed green energy mandate of getting away from gasonline and diesel by 2035.
Many cities nationwide/worldwide are suing. Another issue is the electric buses have less range as advertised. This is a real problem in Edmonton, Alberta's since we experience cold winters that are often the same as Moscow, Russia.

The free market spoke and they couldn't/didnt make what people wanted to buy. It's happened thousands of times. Most of those that went bankrupt weren't subsidized by the federal government, though. Nor were they given favorable or preferential treatment like electric car companies have been. Off to the dustbin of historical failures with them.
