Ah well, since the implimentation of the MCPON they had to find something to keep him (or her eventually) busy so the CNO could make his (or her eventually) mark on the Navy and thus they get to take the lead on finding a uniform change for their boss to get behind. Kind of makes me think of General Patton and his Tanker Uniform he tried to sell the Army on back before WWII.

No disrespect of any individual MCPON is intended. There have been some great ones and some that left me wondering. I have met several and known a couple of more. It is just the position that I do not believe was appropriate or even needed in the USN.
