Whenever I taught a class in computer technology I always began with three statements. First, I hate computers (but I love computing - I just accept computers as a necessary evil). Second, I'd ask "What's a frog?" ( and then explain how words take on different meanings depending on the context in which they are used, and that I'd be using lots of words in class that they think they understand but may have a different meaning than the one they're used to in computing). Lastly, I'd explain that I learned a valuable lesson in the Army, that if you wanted to know the fastest, simplest, and easiest way of doing something, find a lazy man and follow him. (Being the laziest man in the room, I'd tell them "Follow me!")
