I realize that with only my High School education this is out of my league but how on God's green earth does a heavier load = move faster keep tempo up ,I was and am lousy at math but there is something wrong with this equation.

Science fiction idea for military is integrated suit for military. The book, "Starship Troopers" by Robert Heinlein, is a great example. Although soldiers of the future have lots of gear, they wear their gear with powered suits instead of carrying in harnesses.
