Kind of adds to the other items saw out the lat days on the Philippines. It is a focal point of the enemy.. and to what means remains as yet to be fully seen. Is was tactically defeated at Marawi after 5 months of fighting..... and like the Alamo.. a legend was born that will grow into what was an IS strategic victory.

Don’t you wonder what the status of terrorism in the PI would be today if they had not expelled our forces decades ago?

I have often wondered just what it would be like - and if we would have been fighting the MPLA ... or if the NPA would still be able to be in the open.. But after our 15 years there against AQ in the form of ASG before they recharged and revamped under IS -- how different it would be if we had a stake in the fight..
