Howard P. Perry (pictured) is regarded as the first African American to enlist in the Marine Corps on June 1st 1942. Full integration didn't occur until 1960.

They fully integrated and have made some outstanding Marines. I've served with many and they were top-notch. We were just light green and dark green Marines.
