He didn't actually answer the question. When an aide says there are no plans to pardon Cohen at this time, it's not a stupid question. "Stupid question" could mean either......hell no what a dumb question, or.........of course what a stupid question. Just answer the question as honestly as you can, when you don't you just invite speculation.

There are no questions to answer, no charges have been filed let alone a conviction being made. One has to know what they are pardoning before they can answer yes or no. I am so tired of people trying for a "what if" got you question.
