Fresno State U. tenured professor hatefully celebrates the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush.
The University is apologetic; is distancing itself in the near term--final stance/disposition TBD. Some in the literary community celebrating her for her candor, courage, whatever. Personally, she is welcome to her opinion and she certainly has a right to express herself. I fault her for her absolute lack of decorum as unbelievably tasteless and insensitive which, taken together, seems--simply said--pretty &$%^& stupid. There was another U of C system professor several years ago that claimed in his syllabus that North Vietnamese General Vo Nguyen Giap was "perhaps the most brilliant military mind of the 20th century." Is it just California. Where do these people come from?

Following is an update/side note. It is a "lift" from the Wikipedia article which speaks to the incident:
"Amid criticisms, Jarrar provided a telephone number on her Twitter account as if it was her own contact number, stating "If you really wanna reach me, here's my number ok?"[14] However, the phone number that she provided was that of an emergency suicide/crisis hotline at Arizona State University. The resulting deluge of thousands of spam callers overwhelmed the mental health crisis center's ability to take calls. Two days after Jarrar's tweet, the mental health crisis center continued to receive between 50 to 70 calls per hour."
This act in itself seems to border on the illegal. How brazen.
