Since England has no real training areas left, the British Army rotates armor Battalions to Canada to train at BATUS. This stands for British Army Training Unit Suffield. 22 main battle tanks and over 80 armored vehicles with a training area 19% the size of Northern Ireland and probably bigger than National Training Center by Barstow, California. It is located in my province of Alberta, Canada within an hour or so drive north of the Montana border. In this downfall parody, Hitler is informe by his General Staff that he is to be posted there and he loses it! Medicine Hat and Lethbridge are nearby cities. LOL

Sort of South East of Calgary and Drumheller, then North East East of Lethbridge.
A nephew who is now a Lt Cdr in the Australian Navy played for the MLB Expo farm team in Calgary. Lethbridge also had a minor league team he pitched against.
It is also just East of the town of Nanton which has a Lancaster Bomber on display. ‘Buffalo Jump’ is a bit further South.

Yes, very interesting. You have been by there. Hopefully, we can do more coordination with more than just a token British force at CFB Wainwright. I am on TDY with the 5th Army for 52 days as you already know. Hopefully, the 5th Army will be working to get our units to train there in another big Exercise like or as Maple Resolve in the future.

It's ironic that I'm posting this because I'm here at Fort Sam Houston going to be in OC/T for the next 3 weeks or so helping to coach 15 other Observer controller trainers. They'll be over 70 Observer controller trainer there from the USA along with 2000 American personnel with 5000 personnel with a mixture from Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand conducting one of Canada's biggest exercises called operation Maple resolve just about 3 hours north of the BATUS base.
