She also said similar comments about other students of differing races in the past. I don't think race needs to be brought in to it. She is an idiot, and needs to be fired for putting her student's lives in danger.

PFC Jim Wheeler - Her joke was to call the cops to tell them that an agitated black child had left the school and they had a gun, so the cops would react faster. Stupid to put the child in that position, stupid to put the police in a heightened state when it isn't required.

LT Brad McInnis one of the two of us is misunderstanding this story, and I'm not 100% sure on which of us it is.
This is from the article: "The boy has had behavioral problems and has been known to run from class, according to The Houston Chronicle.
Swearingen reportedly told the staff members that the next time that happened, 'We won’t chase him. We will call the police and tell them he has a gun so they can come faster.'"
So, from this report of the incident, she made a shitty joke to other staff members about what they would do next time the child ran from class. She never called the police and reported anything, so I am not sure how she put any child in danger at all.

PFC Jim Wheeler - I live here and on the local news the reporter commented that she had made actual similar calls previously. Yes, what is in the article is joking, but in the past there have been actions.
