Many people drive to Tennessee to purchase fireworks as well, CW5 Jack Cardwell. As a young boy, growing up in Alabama, we could buy anything available and we did. We bought Black Cat firecrackers, cherry bombs, M-80s, Roman candles; all of it! I don’t remember that much parental supervision, but no one ever got hurt, and no damage was ever done to public or private property.
As a parent back in Tennessee, I took a different view. I educated and supervised my children regarding fireworks, and many of the more “serious” fireworks were no longer available. Frankly, we had a lot more fun watching the huge fireworks display at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater at Crockett Park in the City of Brentwood! We’d take a picnic basket, sit on the grass, let the kids run around and play, listen to the rock and roll bands and watch the fireworks as the grand finale! Cynthia C. SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
