Remember to not use your military jargon that you learned. Don't say Roger that!!, ate up!, stand-bye one!, Negative!!, say again??LOL.
You may be working in a liberal new carbon tax climate change groupthink group of people. You need to try to fit in and speak like they speak.

I'm not trying to sound creepy but I try to think of myself as a predator and a successful predator likes to blend in with the environment by sight and sound. If I'm in an environment surrounded with a bunch of thin skinned anti Trumpers I will quickly evaluate their weaknesses so I can snuff out their feelings like a cheetah that surprises an elk that's getting a drink of water at a nearby puddle. I might even throw out some bias statements even though it might be slightly distasteful but it's all about adaptation and surviving. If I have a chance to do a reconnaissance and some other research that might help me in the type of clothes that I should wear so I do not stick out like a wolf among the sheep so if I have to disguise my wolf self by throwing on a sheep disguise that is what I must do.
