Dr. Colleen Kraft, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, visited a shelter in Texas' Rio Grande Valley where some of these children are held. She spoke with All Things Considered's Audie Cornish about that visit on Monday. She said she's concerned that the stress the children are going through will have long-term health effects.

These children are not pawns,our potus should never have used them as such. We all have emotional scars,which are not shared with the world. Too bad,we can't find a better way to enforce immigration.

An illegal order was issued to deal with illegals and refugees that are legal, violations of the 8th Amendment and federal child abuse laws CAPTA is what resulted with an illegal order, what will happen now are suits against the US due to violations laws.
I have once again resumed having nightmares of seeing and hearing children dying as well as the crys of mothers pleading with me "Save my babY"

The president violated 8 Amendment anf CAPTA laws, that is the issue, cause and effect applies but given that the previous policy was within CAPTA and the 8th Amendment and was dealing with the issue.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) (42 U.S.C.A. § 5106g), as amended by the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010, defines child abuse and neglect as, at minimum:
"Any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation";
