Biblical viewpoints were the basis for may of these types of laws, but people did not apply biblical viewpoints in equal terms, after all people are inadequate to be fully impartial. By that I mean many have extremely steadfast ideas about how wrong it is to be gay because of the destruction of Sodom and Gammorah, the sin of Homosexuality, but do not denounce Adultery, Theft or Using the Lord's Name In Vain, in the same way. All are a Sin in the eyes of GOD and no sin is greater than another, but to humans there is a tendency to place a value on sin, especially someone else's sin.
Please do not misunderstand me, I am not Gay and am not trying to lobby for the LGBTQ XYZ community. I will not impress my moral value on them and sure as heck DO NOT allow them to try to make me feel obligated to support their values, it ain't gonna happen. You be you and I'll be me, don't try to tell me you are right by saying there are however many different sexes in the world, except for a few biological abnormalities there are only two. Anything else is just your imagination trying to make you feel good about yourself.
