A good start is to research the Charity Navigator site. I would be leery if a charity is not rated by the site. It also gives you the total revenues and the % of revenues that actually goes to the recipients. If you search WWP you will find that the organization gives 73.7% of its revenues to the recipients.

I love that the CFC inherently lists the charity’s admin overhead and any charities over a certain threshold have to file a justification. And right now WWP is at about a quarter of each donation is spent on overhead.
