It was bad governance, corruption and organizers from the Saddam Hussein government who are not captured who unified with Isis to dominate after we left. If the central government doesn't take care of the rural provinces and does not make peace with the Kurds, I can see this happening again. Good thing I won't be deploying. I went to enough ramp ceremonies in Northern Iraq (Kirkuk/FOB Warrior)in 2005.
