Opinion | ‘A Conversation With My Black Son’

Is sad that these conversations are (it even if only perceived to be) needed.

Though racism exists world wide, this not, however a racist country. We must all work to root out and expose evil (not just label everything as such).

This is a conversation we have with all our children, not just black children. When was the first time your child went to the big city alone, do you remember the conservation you had with them? On the flip side: When was the first time your child went to the country (maybe where the banjo music plays) do you remember the conservation you had with them? How about traveling to the bad side of town where maybe the Asians hang out? How about the Russians, Polish, Amish, etc. I can go on and on but I won’t. These are perceptions that we are talking about, some of them real, some of them not real… for all races. Sometimes the world is not a friendly place. I don’t like to play the race game, but how about all that white on black killing in Chicago? Sorry I went overboard, I just couldn’t help myself on that last one. :)
