I have a United State Flag in a cherry wood Case with an inscribed brass plate on it that was presented to Me on My Retirement from the US Air Force. The flag also had a certification that it was flown over the United States Capitol.

P03 Maynard, I remember one day at Hanscom AFB, MA We had an officer call over the Security Police Squadron as We did fold the flag on a daily basis at retreat. They were trying to get one into a cherry display case and We refolded the flag and it made a perfect fit. I do know the Officer appreciated that and of course wanted it to be perfect for a presentation.

I did a two man funeral ceremony with an E-6. We folded the flag and were aghast at how much white was showing. After a couple seconds we got our wits together to unfold the flag and do it right. We were both nervous and I was especially nervous presenting the flag and talking to the next of kin.

MAJ Ken Landgren I chuckled hard because I know it is emphasized for red not to show, the stripes on the edge. So where did the white come from, unless you started folding the stars first :0).
