It's funny to read how, years later, the now defected Mig 25 pilot accidentally ate a can of cat food and said that it still tasted better than food he had Russia. I'm sure he was happy to talk to Chuck Yeager and find out what really good food it's supposed to taste like. This jet used vacuum tube technology. Could that have helped in defending against electronic magnetic pulse?

Didn't the Chinese with the same thing when our electronic warfare P3 Orion plane landed in tinian Island after colliding with a Chinese fighter plane that was intercepting it?

Remember this well. State of the art for the day was still vacuum tubes for many of our aircraft as well. Don't think that would have made any difference on EMP. I actually remember training on dealing with EMP in early 70s when our B-52s were still vacuum tube avionics.
