It's not a race if only one side is racing.

I am not worried. We need to put a brigade size element of tanks and equipment back in Germany. We need to put at least a couple squadrons of warthogs in Scotland to protect the baltics and a squadron in Poland to protect Poland and NATO against Russian aggression. Russia has about 4 top-notch divisions On the Border and, depending who you listen to, they can overrun the baltics in 3 days. There is more things to worry about than global warming. If Putin's been testing intermediate-range missiles since 2008, he's already in the arms race. Maybe this means that Angela Merkel can stop goofing off and get her operational rate of her luftwaffe back up to 80% from 10%. Europe needs to put his 2% toward GDP and not toward climate change. I know they've been overwhelmed with a million refugees from the Middle East but they need to stop wasting money on carbon capture and try to focus on Mutual defense of NATO. This doesn't mean bringing nuclear missiles back into England. We have subs for that task.

The U.S. military is currently developing a similar ground-launched, intermediate-range cruise missile to counter the Russian weapon systems whose deployment violates the treaty.

Officials have as well acknowledged the still-under-development American missile, "if deployed", would as well violate the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

Looks like we are prepared to counter if need be as I'm guessing our system is about 30 seconds away from development to production. From my understanding just putting a intermediate range missile to paper violates the INF treaty. However it seems there is a loop hole in which you can do research of weapon systems that may violate the treaty - seems we both have opened that backdoor. We ourselves have not violated the INF as we say our system is in development - not deployed - this difference keeps us within the four corners of the treaty as well sends a message to Russia that we won’t abide by their aggression. However I'd like to know as to when we began our "research" as to understand if we are being reactive or if we were the antagonist and Russia simply responded.

Both sides sharpening the swords doesn't mean an arms race is about to break out - more so a change in approach - stationary nuclear ICBM's are just not piratical giving a mach 20 ( 15,224.6 miles per hour) parameter within the Chukotsky District.
